With the help of the charitable organization Making the Grade, EMBA 21 has opened a house and a meaningful academic future for these eight girls in Lalibela, Ethiopia. In mid-September, the house opened and a new school year started for these girls thanks to the thoughtful contributions of Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business’ EMBA 21 class. These donations will provide housing, education, nourishment, medical care and clothing to these eight young women and enable a brighter, sustainable future for them. It will be exciting to see their updated photos after a few weeks of rest and nourishment.
The house is managed by Birhan Tesfaw, a friend of Capstone Team Africa. Birhan personally selected these fortunate girls for their extraordinary academic potential. This house provides them with the unique opportunity to obtain an education otherwise unlikely due to family circumstances or financial difficulties. To ensure continuity of our students’ education, we kindly request an annual donation for four consecutive years.
